Creating A Legacy
Our story begins a little before 1979 when Diane Tucker began to work in a drapery workroom in Sun Prairie, WI. She learned how to create, sew and put together unique treatments for clients who wanted a custom interior design to complete their vision. With hard work and a little help from her father in law, Tom Tucker, Diane’s Draperies opened in 1979. The first 3 years the business grew and she set forth on her own as the owner of Diane’s Draperies, The Window Covering Store creating works of art both big and small. Throughout the years the business ventured into drapes, valances, shades, blinds, verticals, shutters, cushions, bed spreads, pillows, shower curtains, and other projects for clients around the state of Wisconsin. In 2023 her daughter, Natasha Jones, bought the business in hopes to continue the legacy.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you have a new home, maybe you’ve been in the same home for 30 years, maybe you need privacy, maybe you need sun protection, maybe you need softness. No job is too small or too big for Diane’s Draperies.

Whether you need a treatment on your kitchen window above your sink that lessons sun glare and is able to withstand a few splashes or you built a new home and have no idea where to begin, we can help.
Every person and every story is different. Like fingerprints, no two homes are alike. In fact, no two windows are the same. Where sun may poor into one and the exposure to the world is very evident, the next could be nestled behind bushes or trees creating a dark environment with little need for privacy. There are many factors that go into draping a window. Outdoor factors such as climate, landscaping, direction of the window, and the location as well as personal factors such as traditions, interests, styles, and personalities can all determine what ends up on the windows of your unique home.
